The IP value indicates the degree of protection against the ingress of moisture and dust. The 1st digit (0 = not protected until 6 = completely dustproof) indicates the protection against dust. The 2nd digit (0 = not protected until 8 = protected against immersion) indicates the protection against water. Products with an IP44 rating are splashproof and products with an IP65 rating or higher are (completely) dustproof and waterproof.
The impact protection value (IK) stands for impact resistance and protection against vandalism. This is expressed in combination with 2 digits (IK00 - IK10). Products with IK00 are not protected against resistance. Products with IK10 offer resistance to shocks of 20 Joule and are also vandal-proof.
The colour code is a combination of colour rendering (CRI) and light colour (Kelvin). The first number indicates the colour rendering (1 = very poor colour rendering, 9 = maximum colour fastness). The second and third number contains the light colour. Example: the colour code 830 consists of good colour rendering (8) and warm white light (3000K).
Every bulb or fixture has an energy efficiency class A to G. Energy label A is the most efficient and G the least. LED lighting is the most sustainable lighting technique. Even if a LED bulb is rated E or lower, they still save 70% of energy compared to conventional lighting with the same energy label. Why is it the same label then? To motivate LED brands to get even more durable.
Our all-in warranty is fully included in the product price and covers both hidden defects and technical defects of the product that occurred before delivery. The warranty period differs per product and ranges from 1 year to a maximum of 5 years.

Can I use a LED floodlight as a construction lamp?
Yes, this is possible. However, it is important to note that these are lower wattage models with a light output of approximately 2,000 lumens. We also have LED floodlights with a high to very high lumen output (from 10,000 lm). The light from these fixtures is so strong that you will be blinded by it when looking at it up close.
How many lumens should a suitable LED floodlight have for sports field lighting and/or stadium lighting?
Suitable floodlights for stadiums, sports parks and sports halls should be able to illuminate an area as brightly as possible from a greater height. Therefore, the light should be of very high quality. This includes LED fixtures with a light output of 20,000 to 50,000 lumens. The number of lux (the amount of light that shines on a surface) also plays a role. 200 lux is sufficient for practice. For (professional) games, you need 500 lux.
What is the advantage of LED floodlights with a motion sensor?
An LED floodlight with motion detector only turns on completely when movement is detected within a certain radius/detection angle. This is a great option when you want to use it for security or in places where the floodlight does not need to stay on all the time, such as an oudoors, a garden, storage room or bicycle shed. Because the light is only on when needed, you save up to over 90% in energy costs.
Is it easy to install and replace an LED floodlight?
Every LED floodlight you can buy online from Budgetlight includes all the necessary installation materials and an instruction manual. You can also choose to attach the fixture to a wall or base plate using the mounting bracket. This is a good option when you want to illuminate a large billboard, a company's logo, the facades of a building or a listed building from below.
How can I check whether an LED floodlight is dust-proof and waterproof?
You can tell by the fixture’s IP rating. This number is listed in the specifications of the relevant floodlight. In the filter menu on the left-hand side of this page, you can also filter products by 'IP value'. If you want to install a floodlight outdoors, then choose a fixture with an IP65 value (dust- and waterproof) or higher!
Where do these fixtures perform best?
LED floodlights with a lower wattage and lumen are especially suitable for gardens and (small) outdoor areas. Floodlights with a high to very high light output are in turn more effective in places with a larger surface area, such as a warehouse, production hall, sports field, building site or storage area.
When do I choose asymmetrical lighting and when symmetrical lighting?
This depends on the situation. LED floodlights with symmetrical light are particularly suitable for general lighting of large areas or as accent lighting for tasks requiring a lot of light. Asymmetrical light is dispersed non-proportionally and is therefore perfect for (wall-mounted) lighting that needs to shine in one direction.
How much energy costs can I save by buying an LED floodlight?
When you decide to switch from a halogen floodlight to LED, you will save over 70% in energy costs on average. That's because LED floodlights use far less energy. Also, LED fixtures do not get hot and (unlike halogen) do not contain any toxic substances, making them the better choice considering the environment.
