What is E14?
E14 refers to the type of lamp base, in this case a screw socket / swivel socket. The convenient thing about this socket is that you can literally screw the lamp into the fixture. The E of E14 represents the Edison screw thread, where the 14 indicates the diameter of the lamp base: 14mm.
Is E14 the smallest socket?
E14 is the smallest screw socket you will find in the current range of LED lighting; this lamp base is also known as the small socket. At Budgetlight, you will find both E14 LED bulbs and E27 LED bulbs (large socket) in various shapes and light colours (1800 - 6500K).
How do I know which E14 LED can best replace my old E14 bulb?
We are happy to help you with that! For instance, all our E14 LED bulbs display which wattage it replaces in the specifications and product title. You can also filter on this: 'Replaces (Watt)'. If you have already filtered on this, you can then select the desired light colour and/or light output.
How many lumens does my E14 LED bulb need?
That depends on the purpose of the bulb. For mood lighting, you need a maximum of 300 lumens. A light output of 500 Lumen or higher is suitable for general lighting (main lighting; sufficient light throughout the room) and is also the minimum number of Lumen for a workplace.
What is a candle light bulb?
A candle bulb is shaped like a candle, with or without a curved tip. Are you looking for a bulb for your chandelier? Then an LED E14 candle light bulb is perfect to use. The clear candle bulbs are just a bit more atmospheric than the matt variants due to the visible filament.
Can you dim an E14 LED lamp with an ordinary dimmer?
No, this is not possible because an E14 LED bulb has a much lower wattage than an E14 bulb. A dimmer has in minimum and maximum load; for example, a LED dimmer 0 - 100W. If you want to avoid flickering in the light, install a LED dimmer when switching to LED.
