What is the difference between an LED spotlight and a halogen spotlight?
The main difference between LED spotlights and halogen spotlights is the amount of watts that is used. That is also why you save 90% on energy when you switch to LED from halogen: LED consumes less energy and unlike halogen, LED lights do not get hot and do not contain toxic substances.
When do I need a transformer when using an LED spotlight?
You need a transformer when the LED spotlight operates at 12 volts. This is the case with the following products: GU5.3 LED spotlights, G53 LED spotlights and GU4 LED spotlights. The other LED lights in this category can be connected directly to the mains (220-240V).
How many separate dimmable LED spots can I connect to a dimmer?
This depends on the total wattage of the LED lighting you want to connect, combined with the maximum power of the LED dimmer. The exact amount is always stated on the dimmer itself. If your lights blink when connected to a dimmer, the maximum power has been exceeded.
Which LED spotlights are best suited for a shop or supermarket?
You need high colour rendering (90-99Ra) to illuminate products best. The colour temperatures warm white (3000 Kelvin) and cool white (4000 Kelvin) are popular. Click here to view all 3000K and 4000K LED spotlights with excellent colour rendering.
How do I know whether I have chosen the right colour temperature for my new LED spotlight?
What effect should the light have? Do you want to create a relaxed/comfortable atmosphere, or do you need a light colour that is cooler and at the same time slightly more powerful? Take a look in our web shop to see all very warm white (1800K - 2700K), warm white (3000K) or cool white (4000K) lighting.
How do I determine the brightness of the light for this light source?
This depends on where you place the LED spotlight. At home (living area, sleeping area, kitchen, bathroom or home office), a light output between 300 and 600 lumens is sufficient. The same goes for places like a restaurant, hotel room, theatre or pub.
Why is the right beam angle important when buying LED spotlights online?
The beam angle means how the light is being spread. Do you want to accentuate something or put it specifically in the spotlight? Then choose a narrow (up to 24°) or medium (up to 40°) degree beam. For larger rooms or when you want LED spotlights as general lighting, wide (up to 90°) to very wide degree beams (from 91°) are more suitable.
