Why choose LED panels?
LED panels are energy-efficient and last for years. Moreover, you perfectly tune the light colour and glare ratio (UGR; prevents light pollution) to the room, creating top-quality light output. For example, 4000K LED panels with UGR<19 for schools and offices.
Is a LED panel dimmable?
This differs per LED panel. You have a choice between dimmable with Philips Interact and dimmable with DALI, which allow you to dim multiple fixtures simultaneously.
How many per m² / square metre?
With a ceiling of 2.5 metres high, you will need one LED panel (600x600 mm or 1200x300 mm) per 8 square metres on average. Darker rooms may require more light.
How many lumens do I need for a workplace?
To illuminate a workplace (e.g. office) effectively, you need 500 lux of light (500 lumens per m²). One LED panel of 3000 to 4000 lumens is perfect to achieve this light output for 8m² surface area at a height of 2.5 metres.
How can I install a recessed LED panel?
This is easy in a grid ceiling; you replace a 'ceiling tile' with an LED panel in the same dimensions. Other ceilings require a ceiling reduction of ±5cm, which ensures that the LED driver can also be installed.
What is a surface mounted kit / frame?
A surface mounted kit fo a LED panel is a square or rectangular holder / frame in which you slide or place the panel including the LED driver. The frame is fixed to the ceiling.
Can I suspend a LED panel?
Yes, you can! For this, you need a suspension kit, consisting of safety cables and clamps.
